Business founders are allowed to register companies at their residential address
According to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the location of an organization, called the legal address, is determined by the address at which its CEO is located. Intentionally providing a different address will lead to administrative fines, or it may lead to the liquidation of the company and the disqualification of its CEO.
Igor Gushchev, Senior Partner of the Duvernoix Legal law firm, reminds that the use of addresses that obviously cannot be freely used to communicate with the organization is not allowed as legal addresses. "Including destroyed real estate, government offices, military units, and so on. Legal entities may not be located at the conditional postal addresses of an object under construction. In addition, the owner of an apartment or other premises has the right to prohibit the registration of organizations in it," the expert states.
