We agree out of courts: we reduce rental payments in a pandemic

During a global pandemic, landlords and tenants have to make concessions to stay afloat after restrictions are lifted. Owners of premises understand that if the clients go broke, they are unlikely to find new ones. Some negotiate rent free period, others even manage to get a discount. But lawyers urge not to forget about the vulnerable position of landlords. Many of them have to pay off large loans for their real estate. Experts explained which option would be the most compromise for both parties in this situation.

According to Olga Batura, head of real estate and PPP practice, a compromise will be the best option: “The majority of premises owners are well aware that there will be fewer tenants when the period of “non-working days” is over.”
