Metrostroy’s bankruptcy is protracted

According to Karina Sidorova, Head of Crisis Management and Bankruptcy Practice, the bankruptcy process, which began in 2019, will not end in the next year and a half.

"This is unlikely with so many disputes about the invalidation of transactions, the specifics of the property to be sold, and the rotation of managers. At the same time, the main task is to maintain a balance of public interests to continue the construction of the metro and private interests of creditors to repay their claims," Karina Sidorova believes.

The expert considers that there is a conflict between two major creditors – Bank Rossiya and Rosselkhoznadzor. At the same time, the first has an advantage at meetings of creditors: 54% against 19%, Karina Sidorova calculated.
