“Justice online” conference post-release

The pandemic stimulated the introduction of Internet technologies in the courts. Although lawyers evaluate the innovations ambiguously – the problems and prospects of “Justice in online” were discussed by the participants of the “DP” meeting.

Anna Yakovleva, senior lawyer at Duvernoix Legal, has ambiguous attitude towards the “virtual” perspective: “Are the principles of transparency, equality, accessibility and competition are observed online? And how important is the sacred process itself – a judge in a robe, a coat of arms, a flag? Will our mentality accept the judge in an informal setting, sitting in front of the camera and dispensing justice? In addition, not all citizens have the necessary technical means and electronic signature, and therefore, will the widespread introduction of online technologies make justice elite, accessible only to the chosen?” – warns Anna Yakovleva.
